I am from the Midwest – Cincinnati – so I am officially from away, even though I have lived in Maine since 1989. My route to Maine was circuitous – I grew up in Cincinnati, graduated from Vanderbilt University, then started my career in television back in Cincinnati.
My career path started as a writer and journalist for the local public television station. I then spent 10 years working in television development and production in New York and Los Angeles.
After a brief stop in Boston my husband and I and our two young children moved to Cumberland, Maine. We’ve never looked back. Our youngest is a true Mainer, so we have one foot in the door here. I have been very involved in my community, my church and the arts in Maine. My family and I love the outdoors – we play golf, ski and bike regularly. I’m proud to say that my lifelong involvement in competitive golf earned me induction into the Maine Golf Hall of Fame!
As owner and publisher of Port City Life magazine (now known as Maine magazine), I got to tell stories that celebrate life in Maine, so I really got to know many communities around our state. That provided a great foundation for my real estate career. Subsequently as Director of Admission at North Yarmouth Academy, I helped families determine if NYA was a good fit. I also found myself helping them find a community and a home that were a good fit for them, too.
That led me to real estate and my association with Keller Williams Realty. Real Estate is not just about buying and selling houses, it is about listening, looking beyond the pictures, providing research and analysis and, most importantly, coaching our clients about the choices they have. I am committed to bringing clients closer to their dreams, whether it’s their first home, next home or second home, and being there for them throughout the process and beyond.
The Abode Real Estate Group and its philosophy resonate with me. It’s about helping others navigate some of life’s biggest decisions. Change is hard and we are committed to respecting our clients and their circumstances and helping them discover and begin their next chapter. I am proud to be a member of Abode.
